If it's just freezing, it's probably just getting over heated. D: Make sure nothing is blocking the fans or anything.

If you can't see anything, it's probably a problem with the laptop itself. I had that problem last year and had to send it in. D:

Nothing is! It sits on my laptop case and it's so cold in my room I don't understand. ~_~;;

Yeah. I'll have to send it in to best buy and hope it's just a software issue.

Sounds like a hardware issue. If you don't mind voiding your warranty I would open it up and make sure the belt isn't laying on the fan and overheating it into freezing. Also make sure everything is secure. You'll probably notice a shit load of dust- Clean it if you want, but computers are meant to act like indirect vacuum cleaners. It could also be the battery source isn't strong enough. I'll check back if you want to go into further detail with what you've tried on it. I'm pretty much an IT support person for my college. Let me know.
